How’s this for a lake house?

How’s this for a lake house? This feels like a great place, especially for Sunday’s ?A few things to consider when evaluating a lake house or lake lot purchase:

? Is it in the floodplain? If you’re building, this will effect your design since your architect will need to have the finished floor level above the floodplain, and you’ll need additional flood insurance if you’re financing the build or purchase. It’s not too ridiculous of an expense, but something to consider.
? Does your lot extend into the water or does it stop at the shoreline? If it stops at the shoreline, you’ll need to double-check with your local jurisdiction if you can build a boat dock or boathouse in the waterway.
? What’s your water source? Is it City water, a well, or does water need to be hauled in?
? Are short-term rentals allowed? Sometimes, being in a completely unrestricted area versus a manicured neighborhood with an HOA is best because if this. If the lake house isn’t your primary residence, the ability to rent it out is a huge perk. Some luxury lakefront rentals command $500k+ in revenue per year!
