I’ve been told it takes about 4 years after a life altering, or traumatic event to begin to feel like yourself again. I now agree. 4 years ago today, I was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. I consider myself very blessed and lucky that it was caught early, and to have the resources and support to have the surgery immediately and put it quickly behind me. I don’t like to call myself a survivor or a fighter because there are so many women that don’t catch it in time and are literally fighting to survive. Here’s a #throwback at #susangkomen‘s annual gala just a few months after my surgery. Ladies, please get your tatas checked annually. Gents, please encourage the ladies in your life to get their mammogram. Early detection is life saving and women are being diagnosed younger and younger. Here’s to the healing past but onward to a healthier future ??
